Greyhound Pets Of America- Michigan

Adoption Application
Thank you for your interest in greyhound adoption. Greyhound ownership is a very rewarding responsibility. The placement of a retired greyhound athlete into a new adoptive home is taken very seriously by all greyhound rescue organizations; therefore, you will be expected to meet various requirements in order to be considered for this adoption program. If you are a conscientious pet owner, or want to become one, the process for greyhound adoption should be exciting, and one that will produce a win-win situation for you, the greyhound, and GPA-MI. This application is intended to assist Greyhound Pets of America-Michigan (GPA-MI) in evaluating the willingness and ability of a prospective greyhound adopter(s) to meet this responsibility. Adopting a retired greyhound is a process in itself and involves dedication, patience and an abundant love for the retired racer. These dogs have some definite needs moving from a racetrack environment into a home environment, making adjustments that they have never experienced before. You will need to be their constant teacher and guide in order for them to make this transition a successful one. Ask your GPA representative lots of questions and be prepared to answer those you will be asked. As you complete this application, be certain you are willing to share your patience, time and love with a retired greyhound....they are well worth your investment!
